GW4-35(DW) Outdoor medium voltage Isolator switch

Overview

All components are hot-dip galvanized for superior corrosion resistance. Stainless steel is used for precision parts such as fasteners smaller than M8 to ensure accurate assembly.

Conductive elements feature flexible copper tube connections. The central contact employs a self-supporting “handshake-style” contact finger with an external spring that carries no current, ensuring stable conductivity.

The newly designed contact structure uses the deformation of contact pieces and spring pressure to maintain firm contact, significantly reducing sliding wear and improving reliability.

An external spring layout effectively prevents current shunting.

A magnetic locking plate enhances dynamic and thermal stability.

Rotating components are fitted with self-lubricating sleeves, eliminating the need for grease and reducing maintenance.

Main terminals adopt a flat-plate design: surfaces are tin-plated for 630A ratings and silver-plated for 1250A–4000A, ensuring excellent conductivity and oxidation resistance.

Porcelain components are fitted with hot-dip galvanized anti-rust caps. Creepage distances are selectable according to pollution levels and are designed to exceed standard values for enhanced insulation.

Structural Description

35kV models utilize GW4-40.5 type isolating switch bodies, operable via manual or optional motorized mechanisms. 110kV models use GW4-126 bodies with corresponding actuators.

These isolating switches feature a double-column, horizontal opening design. All three poles are interconnected via linkage rods for synchronized operation. Each pole comprises a base, insulator columns, terminals, and contact assemblies.

Bearings on both sides support rotating shaft assemblies, which are linked by plates and screws to ensure precise three-pole synchronization.

Flexible braided red copper wires connect conductive rods and wiring boards for easy and adaptable line connection.

The central contacts adopt a twin-finger, rotating, self-supporting contact structure, offering stable contact with reduced wear and extended service life.

When equipped with grounding switches, mechanical interlocks are included to prevent the simultaneous closing of the main and grounding circuits, ensuring operational safety.

Product Features

  • The double-column, center-opening structure enables automatic contact cleaning, enhancing long-term reliability.

  • Contact fingers are made from high-strength, conductive, and elastic materials to ensure firm contact and eliminate resistance issues caused by rust or heat.

  • The rotating mechanism is fully maintenance-free, sealed against dust and moisture, and features self-lubricating bearings combined with hot-dip galvanized steel components for smooth, long-lasting, and corrosion-resistant operation.
